Miriam Project

Spring 2022

This project was inspired by Miriam from the Passover story, Hebrew matriarchs, and my own mother. Water is very sacred in Jewish culture and I wanted to capture the femininity of water. I created a moodboard, designed 5 dresses, painted a design of a thrifted dress, and taught myself how to paint on silk using Gutta resist. The fish design was given to my mother as a gift.
