Sinuous Mini Collection
Spring 2022/Fall 2024
This dress was made from a class assignment to make a look using only geometric shapes. We could only use circles, rectangles, or squares. This dress is made of a green taffeta using only square pieces of fabric. I took inspiration from Norma Kamali and Rei Kawakubo. This dress is meant to distort the body shape and be curvy in all the "wrong" places. Each section is gathered and trimmed with handmade cording. There are long strands at the top that the wearer can tie around their body to distort the shape as they wish, with an adjustable tie closure at the back and ruching along the skirt that can be used to create a variety of lengths.
I revisited the dress two years later for a fashion show titled Petrichor and I made another dress to go with it using the same techniques, but this time I used black and gray fabrics and spikes to give an edgier look. Both looks were styled and makeup designed by myself.
